Tanner Hargrove, M.S.
LMFT-S, NCC, LPC-Associate
Tanner Hargrove earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from West Texas A&M University and a Master’s Degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Ca. He currently works as a private practice therapist with the offices of Amarillo Family Institute, full time instructor in the school of psychology @ Amarillo College, and is also a PhD candidate @ Texas Tech University.
Currently he holds licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor in the state of Texas, National Certified Counselor and is a licensed professional counselor associate under the supervision of Sherry Randolph, MA, LPC-Supervisor. Tanner works with couples, adolescents and families, as well as emerging adults.
Tanner is the clinical director for the Hideaway Experience Intensives and works with couples in distress and crisis seeing highly successful treatment using Restoration Therapy. He holds Level II certification in Restoration Therapy and actively pursues those principles in his practice.
Outside of therapy his interests include music, outdoor long distance running, reading, and good meals with good friends and family. His marriage and his children are his life’s sustaining force.

Jon McLoughlin, MA, LPC, LMFT-Associate
Jon McLoughlin is a graduate of Colorado Christian University where he received his B.S. in Psychology and LeTourneau University where he received his M.A. in Counseling with a focus in professional counseling and marriage and family therapy. Jon is working towards independent licensure as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) under the supervision of Wib Newton, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-S at Amarillo Family Institute.
Jon is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and Christian Counselors of Texas.
Jon works with children, adolescents, and adult individuals as well as couples and families. He has counseling experience in a variety of settings including substance abuse treatment, private practice, and non-profit social services organizations. His clinical areas of focus and expertise are parental alienation, ADHD, trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, and addiction. Previously Jon worked with foster parents, foster children, and their biological parents. Jon is passionate about helping clients on their journey to healing through the counseling process.
Jon and his wife Stephanie have been married since 2002. In his free time, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, building computers, and working on cars.

Virginia Monk, M.Ed. LPC-S
Virginia (Ginny) Monk is a licensed professional counselor in Texas and a Texas Board Approved Supervisor. She earned a B.A. in Mass Communications and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Texas A&M University. She has been in private practice as a therapist since 1999 and specializes in marital and group therapy with a special emphasis in affairs and blended families. Ginny is a co-founder of Restoration Therapy and is a Lead Therapist at the Hideaway Experience.
Ginny has been leading marriage intensives at the Hideaway Experience since inception in 2006, working with couples in distress and often on the brink of divorce. In 2013 Ginny began development of a training program for therapists and pastors “Ultimate Betrayal Ultimate Success” for use in the treatment and recovery of affairs using the Restoration Therapy model. Ginny frequently speaks at conferences and workshops and has developed several popular presentations including “Addictive Elements of Rage: the Roots and Treatment of Anger”, “Chasing My Pain! Where Does It Come From?” and “Never Dive Into Murky Waters”
Ginny says, “I am passionate about instilling hope through a process of insight and understanding on a journey to strengthen us as individuals and in our marriages; for the healing of our families and the future of our children”. She is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and past President and current member of the Amarillo Area Association of Mental Health Professionals, as well as other various organizations. Ginny was in the private business sector in consulting and marketing for many years previously and with her husband have raised two adult married sons. Kristi Murphey, MA, LPC
Kristi Murphey is a licensed professional counselor in Amarillo, Texas. She grew up in the Texas Panhandle and has a passion for serving the people of Amarillo and the surrounding areas. She is an individual, marital, and family therapist who specializes in identity and self-worth issues, affair recovery, and blended families. She has extensive experience working with survivors of suicide, the grief process, and forgiveness issues. She also has experience in co-leading marriage intensives at the Hideaway Experience in Amarillo. Kristi is certified in Restoration Therapy and assists individuals and couples to gain clear insight and perspective regarding their identities, the root of issues, and unhealthy coping patterns; and provides intervention techniques to help individuals and couples move into responsible change and relationship.
Kristi earned a B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 1992 and an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2011. She is a member of the Amarillo Area Association of Mental Health Professionals and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Wib Newton,PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Wib Newton is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. He is an acting Supervisor for both organizations. Wib is a co-founder/trainer of Restoration Therapy and is an active therapist at the Hideaway Experience marriage intensive.
He is the author of “Great Start”, a premarital training that is being used in the Texas healthy marriage initiative, “Together in Texas”, and the Family Wellness fatherhood curriculum, “Dad’s for Life”. He regularly leads a small group of couples through “Marriage Made Easier”. Sherry L Randolph, MA, LPC-S

Jessica Romero, MA, LPC
Jessica Romero is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Southeastern University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from West Texas A&M University. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is currently Level I trained in Restoration Therapy.
Jessica primarily works with children, adolescents, and emerging adults struggling with issues regarding anxiety, depression, and attachment. Jessica also works with parents to provide education and practical applicability of parenting skills based on Attachment Recovery Parenting. As a clinician, she pulls from the psychological schools of Restoration Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Synergetic Play Therapy and Attachment-Based Therapy.

Carey Skinner, MA, LPC

Carey Skinner is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. He holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Amber University and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Pastoral Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Licensed since 1998, his background in crisis ministry as a hospital chaplain and pastor have shaped his unique ability to provide comfort and compassion that helps his clients grow through times of crisis.
Working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, Carey specializes in shepherding his clients through spiritual issues, marriage, family, and men’s concerns. He leads men’s groups for those struggling with sexual addictions.

Terri Slaughter, M.ED. LPC-S
Terri Slaughter is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas and a Texas Board Approved Supervisor. Beginning in 2007, she has worked as a private practice therapist and currently is with the offices of Amarillo Family Institute. Previously she served as a school counselor. She holds a B.A.A.S. in Life Science and Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Texas A&M University.
Specializing in work with individuals (16 years and older) and couples she uses Restoration Therapy and EMDR to address a variety of issues including women’s issues, depression, anxiety, grief, blended family concerns, and marriage. Teletherapy is available for clients who have extenuating circumstances preventing an in-person session.

Elizabeth Smith, MA, LPC
Elizabeth Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. She earned a B.A. in American Studies from Baylor University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Texas A&M University. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and currently works in private practice with the offices at Amarillo Family Institute. She works with individuals, couples, and families and specializes in grief, anxiety, depression, pregnancy and postpartum issues and family pain.
Elizabeth is certified to administer the Prepare/Enrich Marital and Pre-Marital Inventories. She is also certified in Restoration Therapy and actively applies these principles in her therapeutic work.

Melinda Zalman, MA, LPC
Melinda Zalman is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where she received her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Professional Counseling. Melinda enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, premarital couples and married couples. She enjoys helping with conflict resolution skills, communication skills, co-dependency, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, premarital and marital counseling and sexual issues. Melinda is currently offering an anxiety group for high school students.
Melinda is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and is currently Level I certified in Restoration Therapy. She believes in the healing power of scripture, especially alongside therapy, and the hope that can come from knowing God.

Jill Griffith, MA, LPC Associate
Jill Griffith is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas. She earned a B.A. in English from Texas Tech University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from West Texas A & M University. She is currently working as an associate under the supervision of Wib Newton, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-S.
Jill works with adolescents, adult individuals, premarital counseling, and couples. She is certified to work with BIPP groups (Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program), is a SYMBIS/SYMBIS+ facilitator, and has experience with blended families.

Dede Schuler, MEd, LPC Associate
Dede Schuler is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate (LPC-A) in Texas. She earned a Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Education in Clinical Mental Health, both from Texas Tech University. She is currently working under the supervision of Terri Clements-Slaughter, MEd, LPC-Supervisor as she works toward full licensure as an LPC. Dede is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association, and is working toward becoming a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also a certified Batterers Intervention Prevention Program (BIPP) facilitator with a local nonprofit organization.
Dede works with adolescents, adult individuals, couples, and groups. Through many years of pastoral care and her time as a hospice chaplain, Dede has worked across the lifespan addressing the issues of grief and loss, end-of-life concerns, depression, anxiety, and codependency. Dede counsels from a person-centered approach, but incorporates skills from other theories such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Reality Therapy. She recognizes that each individual has their own unique strengths and experiences and path to wholeness and healing.
